My Dear Wife

i received your kind letter yuesterday and i was very glad to hear that you was still injoying good health as this leaves me at present.  i am very glad to hear that Lizzie is got better and is doing so well  i hope she will be trobled with no more Sickness.  i received a letter from Jane last week but i have not answerd it yet.

Dear Maggie  at present i am not able to leave the Service  if i could get out with Credit to myself i would do so for your sake for i should be happy with you i know if i Should come home  but i may be able to see you before long.  at any rate it is best to look on the Bright side of the Picture

in my last letter i Sent you a fifty dollar note which i hope you have received and Enclosed in this letter you will find another fifty dollar note and when you write again please let me know if you have received both of them

Dear Maggie  i have no more to add at Present hoping this will find you and Lizzie injoying the Very Best of health.  Give my Love to Mother  Jane and all the family
