Dear Brother

I was very glad to hear of you arriving Safe at home from the rebel Prison  but I was very sorry to hear of your sickness  but i hope that you will Soon regain your health again

there has been a great many changes in the Rigement Since you was captured  but i suppose you have had enough Soildering and dont want to hear any more about the Army

we are now in Winter quarters and as comfortable as can be

i have no news to Send but i hope these few lines will find you much improved in health  i close My Love to you and all the family
