My Dear Wife

I received your Kind letter tonight and i was very glad to hear that you was still in good health as this leaves me at.  i dont like to disapoint you but i will not be able to come home this month.  there is but two officers allowed to be absent from the Regement at one time and it may be another month before i can come home  i Know i cannot come home when i wish but you will see me this winter yet  at least i hope So.  i Sent you a picture the other day on purpose to Show you my Gloves you sent me  they fit charming as you will see by the Picture

Dear Wife  i have no news to Send  Evrything is quite at present  i am glad to hear that William is getting better  i hope the family will have the injoyment of good health  i am very glad that you are better again  i was a little unwell myself this week but i am all right now.  i must close hoping this will find you and all the family injoying the Best of health
