My Dear Wife

i received your kind and affectionate letter last night and i was very glad to hear that you was still injoying good health as this leaves me at present

things about here are as usal though it is a very wet day  but there is always some kind of weather this time of the year  i am glad that Lizzie is doing so well  i hope she will have good luck and have no sickness this next summer.  my time is nearly down to five months and when that slips around i will be at home a free man and i hope we will both live to meet again and i think there is happyness in store for us yet  at least i hope so.

Dear Maggie  i have no news to send you  things are quite at present  i have no time for Reading down here so you need not mind sending any Books for i have plenty to do.

My Dear Wife  i must bring this to a close  Give my love to all inquiring Friends

My Very Best Love to you
i am as Ever
Your Affectionate Husband
