My Dear Wife

i received your very kind and welcome letter today and i was very glad to hear that you and Lizzie was still injoying good health as this leaves me at present

Dear Maggie  i expect we shall leave this place soon  we have everything Packed up and Stored away in a large wharehouse in Norfolk  we are now reduced to light marching order and i expect to see pretty hard times this Summer

Enclosed is two Pictures  one of them you can give to Miss McDonel if you chose  i have sent Jane and Alla each one.

Dear Wife  i have no news to send  i expect our Regt to leave every day but i cannot tell where to  but i suppose we will find out soon enough.  i am very much pleased to hear such a good account of Lizzie  i hope she will live to injoy a long life  i must bring this to a close
