My Dear Wife

i received your kind and affectionate letter today and i was very glad to hear that you was still injoying good health as this leaves me the same at present

Christmas has come and past and it will be the last Christmas for me in the Army  i hope you had a Merry Christmas and i wish you a Happy New Year.  You have got a large family now  i hardly know how you manage to get along but if anyone can get along you can

there is a great (missing) of it just now with men reinlisting  there is about (40) men of our company have reinlisted which is about two thirds of the company  Sam Milligan is one of them.  but Dear Wife  you need not be afraid of me ever reinlisting for Uncle Sam has not Got Money enough to buy me  So you may Expect to see me home next Summer if all is well.

i have no news to send at present  we was relieved from Duty at Barnards Mill two days ago and we are now in camp.  i must come to a close  Give my love to all inquiring Friends

My Very Best Love to you
i am as Ever
