My Dear Wife

i write to inform you that i have received both of your kind letters  one with 7 stamps in it and also the one i am very glad to hear that you are well and injoying good health

Dear Wife  you must have a very buisy time of it what with working in the mill and keeping house  it appears that your old woman was not of much use to you.

Dear Maggie  i cannot write much just now for i have to start for Barnards Mill this morning  i have got through with the Court Martial  i have been down for three days  so this morning i start back to my company  i suppose it will be New Year before i shall be relieved

So My Dear Wife  i wish you  Aunt Millicent  Margret  Lizzie and all of your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

i must now close  give my Love to Mother  Jane and all the family
