Gettys Station Va  Sept 18th 1863

My Dear Wife

i received your very welcome letter yuesterday and i was very glad to hear that you was still injoying good health as this leaves me at present  our company just arrived in camp last night  we have been out for four weeks and a pretty rough time we have had of it i can tell you

Dear Maggie  i have no notion of forgeting you yet  that would be a impossability for me ever to forget you

Dear Wife  i hope as you do that this war will soon be over for i would dearly love to see you once more  but time wears round and in another 11 months i will be a Free man

My Dear Wife  i have no news to add  everything is quite at present.  i must close  Give my Love to all the Family. Remember me to Lizzie
