My Dear Wife

I received your kind letter last night and i was very glad to hear that you was still injoying good health as this leaves me at Present  My wound is now quite healed up and i have applyed for a leave of absence for twenty days to come home  i dont know wether i shall get it or not  if i am fortunate enough to get it i shall have twenty days at home before i join my Regt.  if i do not get it i shall not be disapointed.  but i may be fortunate enough to get it  but another week will tell wether i will have my furlough or not.

Dear Maggie  i have no news to send  everything about here is very quite at Present  i dont know how long things will remain so.  but i must close  Give my love to all the family
