My Dear Wife

I have just received your kind letter of the 18th and i was very glad to hear from you  i also received the Photograph of you and Jane and i think they are Excellant Pictures of you Both  they are two as fine Pictures as i Ever saw and i am very Proud of them  You must tell Jane that i am very much Pleased and thank her very much for sending me the Picture  i have never been trubled with received Pictures like some of the Soilders have  i have got now three  Yours Janes and Sister Margreats  that is my Pile.

My wound is getting along Sloley  it has not begun to heal yet  but of course it must have time and i will have to have Patiance with it.

Dear Maggie  there is not much Show of the war coming to a close yet  but wether the war comes to a close or not i think i will give up and come home next August  i think i shall have done my share for Uncle Sam.

Dear Wife  i have nothing further to add  Give my Love to Jane  Mother and all the family
