Portsmouth June 13th 1862

My Dear Wife

i write to you to inform you that our company have left Suffolk  we arrived here Yuesterday  the mail will leave in a few minutes and i have not time to write much  inclosed you will find 25 dollars

you spoke about a likeness in your last Letter but as yet i have not received anything but the letter  it is pretty hard for a letter for to find me for we move about so much that the mail cannot keep up to us

this is all i have to say at present  Give my respects to all inquiring Friends

And with my most Sincere Love for you
