To Maggie from Col. Franklin Stratton

Norfolk, Virginia

March 17, 1866

Norfolk, Va.,
March 17th 1866.

Dear Madam:

Presuming that I have your correct address I write to tell you that soon after the regiment, which I had the honor to command and of which your lamented husband was a member, was mustered out of service, I prepared a book containing a Register of the commissioned officers of the Regt with their military history ??? over time

I shall be pleased to send you a copy provided this letter reaches you and you express a desire to have a copy of the book.

I trust that you have ere this succeeded in settling up the affairs and accounts of your late husband in a satisfactory manner.

Very respectfully yours , as

Franklin A. Stratton
Late Col. 11th Pa. Cav.
